David,

The first photo, in the background, could be a Hillman 10hp van. Second photo is a Commer 3 tonner.

Doohhh

That is the vehicle in the background of first photo. Should have recognised it as I am restoring one It is a Humber Snipe, the roof rack made it look like a higher roof line to the rear, hence why I said van originally.

David,

Got one to hand, but where do you think you have missed the 1 from?

Could it be this Contract? T8102 Z4108701 to 4110700 MW GS

Default Mis-paint

I think that there is a missing central "1" Richard and that your suggestion is correct. In another shot the painters have mashed up "11" on another MW......"Oh heck, we've got a mssing 1 in that number..I'll have to squeeze it in!"

Cheers!

And thanks for the id on the Humber.

Default Rhino badge

Am I right in thinking that the Rhino badge indicates the 1st Armoured Division please?

A newer version of 1st Armoured Div Badge shows a white Rhino facing right in a black upright triangle with a red border.

http://www.army.mod.uk/royalsignals/1adsr/index.htm

Wiki shows the same badge.

Paul.

Default Numbers

I am debating what these numbers, 81, 82, 84, 87 are...are they in the convoy slots? They could be team numbers. Note headlamps covered over...it seems that each lorry had a number written on a cover.
