I was wrong!

Rod, It doesn't look like any WS No. 19 you've seen before because it's not a WS No. 19! It's a WS No. 22....

Na, don't think so. I'd say an American Mk.II 19 set with a lot of ham 'improvements'. No 22 set ever was produced in 'Russian'.

Hi Joe.

The data plate shows it started life as an RCA 19-Set Mk II and the surviving decals on the front panel would support that start in life.

At some point in its civilian life, however, it appears a member of the Bubba Family decided the original design needed improving.

Default MK 2 19 set

It's a MK 2 that has had the intercom and B radio removed with a built in selenium rectifier based power supply. A number of radios were modified this way late 50's ish. I have one that was refurbished by 202 RCEME workshops in 1959 to repaint the face-plate and remove the Cyrillic script.

This set looks like a professionally done work

I contacted the seller for a photo of under the chassis, which he promptly posted

I was slightly disappointed, But

It has a nice aluminium shield, Oh and a slightly rusted outer cabinet

I am not game to ask for an internal under chassis photo

This set looks like something that should be in my shed!

Anyone coming from Kettering in the UK to Oz wearing a coat with really big pockets?

cheers rod
