Casey
Good to hear you made it back to BC, but I have to tell you that Saskatchewan is in fact part of Canada, so you should not have had any problems with Saskatchewan customs.

There is no work going on here, just fun. If summer was only 12 months long, it would be perfect, but already the changes in the seasons is starting to occur. It was only 5°C last night. In 2 months or so that could well be the high of the day.The rain is also coming down more often, making harvesting of sand for the sand blaster much more difficult.

I had one of these trailers a few years ago that I ended up scrapping because the box had been overly modified. I still use the frame on my wood hauling trailer, and the cargo box is used to hold scrap metal. I think I have the upside down "Aid China" contract data plate for it somewhere. The axle and miscellaneous parts went to Minto MB. I suspect there are still more of these hiding around, but they are indeed uncommon in restored condition.

Still warm here and it's okay with me...I know what you mean about being hot during the day then dropping like a rock in the evenings! It got cold in the truck while in back...especially up in the hills! hey you mentioned Oregon for the convention/show next year are you going to it? It is the one for MVPA correct?
Good to hear you are taking it easy...Casey

Show of hands folks. Who among us has not cleaned up a space in the yard / driveway / shed (insert otherwise occupied by rusty trucks) for a family function? The term redneck applies.

Replacing the front portion of the floor, I can't duplicate the ribbing so I went a gauge up to make up the rigidity.

Earlier this summer I posted a link to a forum with a fellow doing sheet metal work on old cars. He describes forming ribs with a female mould and a judiciously applied hammer on a male die. The same effect can be done with a roller swaging tool, but after doing 4 feet of rib on one panel, it doesn't have any other use.

Red neck? I resemble that remark.
Compared to the condo's townhouses and all the old lots divided into 2 or 3 my place is a farm (With a lot of nice flowers) around here.

Default Big thank you

Rob, thank you for the clean and sandblasted rim. Fits, looks the same from 5 feet but how many different rims could Ford make in those days? 3 rims all 3 are different but at least the one you gave me is not a widow maker as I see they are called.

Harry

Your welcome. But what was the difference with that one?

There certainly were a lot of variations. Of the 3 I tried to prep for you, all three were different as well. I guess that will happen when equipment sticks around for 70 years. I know we ran into that wiht replacement parts for many of the SMP vehicles, and especially for the modified "off the shelf" vehicles. As they entered their mid-teens in service, it was often hard to source replacement parts, and the manufacturers were not willing to make more for a small fleet of 2,000 or so. We often got parts in that required modifications to fit. Even the M38A1Cdns were getting some odd pieces towards the end

By the way, don't forget to thank Casey. He drove half way across the province to pick this up, and then had to sleep with it on the way back to BC.

He did thanks Rob! I slept fine it was my wife who had to cuddle it...hahahaha!
I saw Harry'sother wheel and it too is a split rim but the split shows on the outside but there is no locking ring on the outter side of the wheel. maybe he'll post a pic of each rim to show us all as i have seen them. the rim you got him has the saftey ring. the other he has is a normal split rim the last is a rim with the space but it has a ring in the centre of the wheel. It runs all the way round the inside of the wheel. I am assuming it holds both halves of the rim together...? Looks dangerous and H E double hockey sticks!
So Harry maybe a few pics to show the others? Rad is in Rob waiting for a lower hose then back on the road!
