Very interesting read
Hi Hanno
That was an interesting read, also gives insight into the logic behind the lights on CMPs. Hit the extra information button at the very bottom, very interesting photo of car with gas bag on roof. Wonder if the gas bags came with a no smoking warning? Cheers Phil

Blackout regulations on jeeps
Lighting regulations were also the reason why the British Car 5cwt 4x4s (Jeeps) had their blackout lights relocated from the grill to the fenders.
Thanks Eric

Oooh. I look forward to reading this. These regulations would have applied to the Welfare Vehicles that I study so this should be really helpful. Also if I ever get to recreate an example of one I can use this information to make it more accurate.
Thank you Matt |

Were there a lot collisions?
HI
Some place I remember hearing/reading that more MVs were destroyed by collisions than enemy action. Now this may be just a myth. Wonder how many of those accidents were driving with blackout conditions. But after having driven my HUP on just blackout lights on may an occasion, including many convoys it is a low speed operation. With a HUP speaking from having lead a couple of blackout trailrides, the first thing you open the windshield so that you are not looking through the glass. Now back, Ilian's post interesting read. Cheers Phil
