Default One for David Hayward...

I recently took into my care an engine block. Sad shape, even for an old ford flattie. Can David provide some insight?

Ser no, from the top of the block is: TL14394F. There is a tiny Brit ordinance arrow over the no 20 near the ser no.

The casting no is "81" on the front rt side over the water pump.

There is a RCEME rebuild tag on the bell-housing, rebuilt at 204 workshop, on 29/9/51. I know that 202 workshop is/was in Montreal.

thanks

Default Hmmm

I am sure that I have seen 'TL' prefixes before..does anyone recognise? I wondered if it was a Carrier engine? The 'F' suffix indicates right hand drive.

Charlie 204 Base Wksp was located in London, Ont along with 17Coy RCEME. 202 Base Workshop now re-named 202 Workshop Depot is still in Montreal.
Cheers, Bill
