Two places to connect.....
If your vehicle is a 2 wheel drive it will be connected to the transmission on the left hand side...passenger side..... rear of tranny just before the U joint.
If it is a 4x4 such as a C15a..... the cable runs down the drivers side of the engine and it connects to the transfer case about the middle of the front face. If your truck is a Ford.... I give up..... in fact don't think Ford had speedometer.... they never went that fast anyways...... Bob

you may need to get a cable that fits the motor that is installed and take both it and the original cable to a place that can make a cable with both correct ends on the one cable.

Don't you have a diesel C15 2 wheel drive just repainted...
....if I am right nothing standard CMP will fit....!!!!
Added note...... Cliff has the only practical solution.....
