Default Setting up brake/steering linkages

Over the last month I have been pulling out and cleaning up my brake/steering linkages. Today I reinstalled them and got most of them back to spek as per the manual.

When I was adjusting the steering slide clevises I found the left hand one could not be set properly.(See letter I in pic 1) I got the RS one setup so that when the wheel is turned to the right the brakes begin to activate at 90-95deg as per manual. However for left hand turns it doesn't want to activate until approx 120deg.

My second question is how long should rods A(no letter given in manual) and M be when in a properly setup system. There is nothing in the manual about them and I think they are out of wack on my UC. If rod A is too short it will either pull on the brake linkage to the rear or pull the steering slide clevis in. If B is to short it pulls on the pivot which then pulls on the rest of the stuff.

Any help is much appreciated. I appologize about not crediting the picture but I found it on the net(probably this forum) sometime in the past. It just showed off my situation so well.

Someone must be able to climb into their UC and measure those bits for me.

Even making them up would at least give me something to go with! How many times do I need to poke someone or beat them to get an answer or made up answer.

Excellent. SO the frying pan or the poking Enfield really do work.

Thanks sooo much. I will confirm what I have by the weekend.

Just wanted to say that the measurements Ron gave solved my problem and the brakes in the UC work great.

When I first backed out and tried to engage the left brakes it would barely turn. After checking the measurments I found my rod needed to be tightend in by approx 3". Once this was done I had very repsonsive steering.

Now I can't wait to try it out on pavement.

Thanks again
