A question for modellers

After many years of being too busy I have started building kits again. My favourite subject matter is trucks!

My question? Well many years ago I heard that the black plastic often used by kit manufacturers for the tyres reacted with the plastic of the kit so that after a while the wheels 'melted' or became soft. The same thing happened to bogies were those tank tracks were made in one strip, before separate links were on offer!

With kits like the Italieri Opel Blitz or the GAZ-AA trucks out of Russia - has anyone noticed such a problem?
