I am posting this for a friend who is not on MLU but it is a worthy project and of interest to many of us I'm sure.
Good Morning Forum, To help raise funds for a statue to be erected in Sir Arthur Curries birth town of Strathroy Ontario, a committee of volunteers is holding fundraisers. On Sunday, April 15 we are hosting the 1st Great War Forum & Militaria Show. The details are as follows and thank you for your interested. GSACMP Date: Sunday, April 15, 2012 Location: Caradoc Community Centre, 565 Lions Park Drive, Mount Brydges, ON N0L 1W0 Times: 7am Venders Start To Set Up 9am Doors Open to the Public Speakers are scheduled for 10am, 11am, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm, 4pm Doors Close Scheduled Speakers are; Norm Christie, Edward Soye, Professor Geoff Hayes, Michael O’Leary, and Professor Andrew Iarocci These are scheduled speakers only. Admission: $ 5.00 for 18yrs & Under $ 8.00 for over 18yrs Venders Tables $ 15.00 for One or $ 25.00 for Two Payment can be made the morning of the show. Venders, please no live guns or ammunition. Mike it would be great if you could pass the info on to the general's grandson. He may already be aware since some family members are in the mix but it sounds like he would be a great resource. Thanks.

it's easiest to keep your nickname at the top but go into user CP and add a perminent signature then your name automatically appears at the bottom of all your posts.

It appears there are about 75 tables taken out of 100 available for vendors and displays. Vendors range from books to militaria, displays from cap badges to First War aircraft parts. Hope they get a good turn out for a worthwhile cause.

2nd Great War Forum and Militaria Show
They are at it again but with a slightly different twist:
To help raise funds for the statute of Sir Arthur Currie in Strathroy, Ontario, we are having our 2nd Great War Forum and Militaria Show. We have expanded the format to include a Militaria Auction on Friday Nov. 16, 2012 and the Forum and Show on Saturday, 17th of November 2012. The show is being held again at the Caradoc Community Centre, Mount Brydges Ontario outside of London. Guest speakers this session include, Dr. Jonathan Vance, University of Western Ontario, Timothy Dubé, Library and Archives Canada, Arnold Arnie Kay, Library & Archives of Canada.
