This one is rarer I’d say, and priced accordingly:

When they pop up around here at $800-1100, they sell quickly. When guys try for $1500, they do seem to sell eventually, but not quickly. When they get up around the $2500 mark, the sales seem to stagnate. And those are Cdn dollars, not USD like the one Tony has linked to.

I bought 28 of them when they were released for $320 each (taxes in). I sold them off for $600 each, and never paid a penny to advertise. In hind sight, I should have sat on them for a year or two and doubled the price, but it was a quick purchase and a quick sale. Nothing wrong with that.

Default worth vs value

What we are seeing is a secondary effect of 4x4 expedition touring buying up surplus M-series trailers as foundations for rugged camping support trailers. The Canadian ones were just the last good condition batch of small trailers suitable for cutting off 80% of the original fittings and accessories, and fabricating up with kitchen sliders, battery charger panels, small fridges, even tented sleeping platforms. The results look fantastic, but add another ton/tonne to the weight being moved along the trails.

Default FMC 1945 No.4 trailer price

Wow! I must be really way out of touch with Aust prices if an unrestored, modified 8-cwt No.4 trailer with modified tail lamp brackets/modern tail lights, a spare wheel mounting under the rear, no spacer in the towing eye and a badly bent rear top edge is selling for $3,600!

I would think that would be a reasonable price for a finished restored example Mike, so probably top end but when you think jeeps are bringing upwards of $22k nowadays, the must have accessory trailer is not going to be seen for $750 anymore.

Hanno!!!

Why didn't you tell us about that auction? Didn't know about it at all, and I could have gone very silly there. Not to worry, there were others who did so in my absence:

See Lots 222, 223, 225, 226, 227, 228, 440, 509, 510.
