Default Lynx Sc Bren Mount

Merry Xmas to all forum members.

I was wondering if anyone can shed light on the Bren mount for the Lynx scout car.

Was there a specific bracket or cradle for the bren or did it just sit there ?. I've enclosed a shot of my Lithgow 1943 bren sitting within the aperture.

thanks

Campbell

Campbell,

I can only speak about the Daimler on which the Lynx hull was copied from, and they did not have any mounts for the Bren. It had to be supported by the observer / commander. There was a small pad outside the gun port on which to rest it on. Old photos sometimes show a sandbag on the front of the vehicle and the bipod used, to support it, when not being held.

Thanks richard

I guess thats why some units placed a .30 Cal machine gun on a mount, either in front of the hull or inside, like the enclosure at:

Thanks
