Saint
For a reason he is well aware of, I hereby nominate Stew Loy for sainthood.

Stu?
St. Stuart? Patron saint of lizards? Or is it something to do with these green thingies?

Thought so
Although I'm sure the world needs a patron saint of Iguanas.
Good one, Stu.

Qualifications
While in general, sainthood should require a lifetime of doing good and miraculous deeds and not be based on a single one, however stellar, my nomination does relate to cirular Fox-related pieces Stew was instrumental in acquiring.

Bruce are you implying Stewarts great deeds are at an end or is this one unsurpassable ?

It WAS a good year!
Bruce, et al,
It certainly was a good year. Me and the Carrier ( and wife, usually ) got to attend may D-Day activities from one end of Ontario to the other. I made it on the cover of both of Canada's MV mags, a note in the CF Maple Leaf mag, but the most fun was interacting with the MV community and the veterans whose brave actions they commemorate. Helping the MV game move forward by helping Jon get his truck home or getting some Fox rings bent was only part of the fun. Just as interesting was speaking to a D-Day first wave assault man from the Windsor area at the local armoury prior to a parade. The only thing that did not get done this year was fiddling with that 19 set with Gord. I am chasing a base unit so that I can get off my butt and see if we can get the old radio to work. I will try to choose the coldest day of the new year to do this, so be ready. What shall I do to top this? I suspect with the help of Charlie Fitton and Perry Kitson ( if they are indeed 2 seperate persons ) I think that next year may be just as good. Wink, wink - don't say anything ... maybe even better! Please drop over if anybody is in the Beachville / Woodstock area. The anniversary of the end of the war in Europe draws nearer every day, and plans need to be made so that we can do what we can to commemorate this monumentous event in a way that only we can. The generation of ordinary Canadian heroes that won freedom for the world dwindles every day, so the latest parades and ceremonies are all the more important. Thanks for thinking of me. Stewart . |
