Not wading into the personalities involved here, it does amaze me sometimes when I see ads looking for the best, rarest and hardest to find items in the hobby. Those of us who have been tinkering for years know the likelihood (or not) of finding such things and, should we ever want one, would start beating the bushes with the contacts we've nurtured over decades. That said, who know what a 'wanted' ad might uncover.

My experience with such ads, and it's only my experience, is that the buyer is looking for that rare item not as a life long desire but to flip it.

I am looking for Ww2 jeeps 24/7 and 365 days always .
My add for wanted is on crglist is always there .
Its my hobby restoring ww2 jeeps .
Currently I own
42 Cdlv all original barn find
43 gpw usmc radio jeep
45 Gpw barn find
42 bantam trailer

And have restored sold in past
45 gpw
45 MB radio jeep
44 MB
50 m100

I do offer top dollars for right jeep. But often run into people who wants
Top dollars but don’t have correct jeep.
I know 2 Cdlv jeeps from Vancouver island who wanted top dollars. a Cdlv Slat grill with globe box and another one had a 15 digit VIn no. ( also parking break handle attached under the dash )
And I usually don’t “BURST the BUBBLE” for someone .
Thanks

Default Sadly It Is The Trend

Unfortunately this is also prevalent within the militaria collecting community with "What have I bought, what is it worth?" posts common on the forums. Thanks to current TV shows and the insatiable demand for this material a whole generation of speculator 'collectors' have been encouraged to seek 'home runs'.

And It’s also common that people who have nothing to BUY or SELL and lots of spare time will put their NOSE into web forms .

Default serial numbers

Hello Kam

Is it possible to get your serial numbers date of manufacture etc for your Non USMC jeeps? This way i can add them to my data base. Including the trailer.

Thanks
Eric

Default Re : data plates

I like the worn out look of original data plates .
I know The complete Govt process for lost Old title,
search and then registration process .
Getting new Vin no. Etc
Been in the hobby for long time now 😊
As my add says wanted early Slat grill or script MB pars etc.
It can be with or without title .
Some jeeps can only be donor for other jeeps .
Seems like you have never unscrewed the jeep data plate
Without Rcmp permission 😊.

Yes not interested in knowing how you got scammed etc or other scams
Are going around .You can start another post for it.
Don’t take it personally, I just don’t like getting useless notifications .

And yes buyer beware . Few days ago got email, someone
Selling me 1941 Slat grill jeep for $12500 which I saw recently
sold on eBay for $25000. He sent me same Pics details .

Thanks

Default Thaks for the Advice

"And It’s also common that people who have nothing to BUY or SELL and lots of spare time will put their NOSE into web forms," said the speculator to the forum.

So have your found that home run yet or still trolling?

Thumbs down Final Judgement 😃

Seems like some fellas got too much time here.
Turned this simple “wanted add” to a court house .
filled the entire Page with there nonsense .

13 years ago someone locally had a ww2 Jeep for
Sale .when I offered to buy it. he Said “you guys turn
The jeep into something else” and did not sell it me.
Next year I restored my 1st gpw and was at the show .
And the passion for jeeps got even stronger.
Then more projects followed and so on.
Forgot to mention I am from India, moved to Canada at age 21 .
Now Canadian citizen.

Peace

Alllll Right allll right alll right......... as a certain Hollywood actor has been known to say. Who knew this forum was such a drama club. . I humbly suggest everyone goes back to restoring their vehicles and sharing that kind of stuff. Life is too short and winter is too long for these kinds of posts.
