Default Antiques roadshow models

I just spotted some WW2 era vehicle models being appraised on the " Antiques Roadshow " on TV .

The models appear to have been made by Austin or Bedford , and they are in a large scale . One of them is a Austin K5 with a 6 pounder hidden in the cargo area .

I have seen similar models made by the Rootes group , and these were featured in a W&T ?

While I didn't see the show, your description brought back to mind a detail of my childhood i had long forgotten. I used to have a van bodied panel truck of about 18" long by maybe 10" across, and over a foot high. The rear doors opened to the side x2, and I guess the best thing to equate it to would be a fordson van of 1950s. It was dark green too. I wonder what happened to it? Couldn't imagine giving it away, as it was one of my favorites. That, and my Casey Jones engineers hat were precious to me. Probably landfill now!

Default pricing

The lady doing the value pricing , she usually does the kids toys, teddy bears and dolls . She was out of her depth doing those factory Austin military models , they should have got the militaria chap to do it .

Militaria chap is ok for Cap Badges and Medals, but hasn't got a clue about anything more complicated... he told me an SOE/Resistance radio set I have was definitely not collectable and of little value... he had absolutely no idea what it was and wasn't honest enough to admit it.

Interesting, I've had a few of those sets as well , yes they are highly collectable now . A complete B2 set was sold here on epay recently , just over 1k$ , I bid on it .
