Default Christmas Plans?

Hi Folks,

Well, with just over 3 weeks left before Christmas, I'm sure many of you have plans for family get-togethers, dinners, etc ... ???

Ma Yappy is expecting a very happy and quiet low-key holiday season here ... I heard it through the grapevine that my elderly landlord is planning to lay a holiday turkey on me, again!!! so I'll be eating turkey for a month of Sundays again ... will likely cook it up around New Years ... wanna come to dinner? If I remember correctly, I made a lot of really tasy and various meals from the last one ... cooked it, stripped it, froze portions ... grab a portion for soup or sandwiches, turkey pie, what have you ... good stuff and better than store boughten frozen thingy dinners ....

For the record, I really wanted to be able to send all of my MLU-er friends Christmas Cards via the snailmail this year, but unfortunately that ain't gonna work out to do, but not to worry, I'll get my Christmas wishes to you all, in good time for Christmas, and in another way. Should I spring for a lotto ticket and hit the big one before the holidays, I'll buy a plane and personally deliver some REAL CANADIAN MAPLE SYRUP to every last one of you, no matter what corner of the earth you live in ...

I'd love to hear what some of you folks are planning for the holidays

Ma Yappy

I'll Be standing to with the cats at MLU TAC HQ through Christmas this year as per regular day-to-day operations. Might get some writing done - it's been one hell of a year on this end, in many respects, lots to think about indeed. I'll be seeing my kids at some point I reckon, but that'll be all.

Next year will be rather different I suspect...

What? No Christmas dinner in Uxbridge this year?

What will be different next year?

Cliff ... prawns? Eh? (by the way, we have both prawns and shrimp here, they are different critters aren't they?

PS: Sunray ... last month I bought a super cheapo pair of warm slippers and they had pompoms on the backs of them which I tore off and immediately thought of Tasha and wished I could give them to her ... how is her pompoms stash these days?

Gonna be a cold winter methinks. Newstories predict this will be the coldest winter in 15 years.

Currently -17 and 92% humidity here right now ... at 8:20 p.m.

Ah ... good stuff Unce Max .... this really is a special Christmas for you folks then ... especially your parents! A whole new generation has begun with Declan (interesting name! Is there a story behind the name???)

I was just thinking again today about how my daughters are the only branches coming from my Mom and Dad, through me, me being their only child. It's really weird to think of myself as an only child, which in fact I am ... never thought of the sisters I grew up with as half sisters before that "only child of Mom and Dad" fact registered in my head Very strange to try and get used to that idea.

I think I am a more traditional Bah Humbug sort of person myself. Although I do enjoy Christmas now since my girls have been born.

Kids have been known to turn Bah Humbug scrooges into Santa Clauses who enjoy being Santa Christmas without kids just don't seem like Christmas to me ... I'm not a traditional religeous type and Christmas has never really had that religeous tone for me ... has always been about family ... the spirit of kids I guess.

Have fun with your girls this year Ian

YUM ... received early Christmas goodies today from my long time friend at the Coast, and was told by her to open NOW and enjoy ... which is exactly what I've been doing ... YUM ...

Orange Chocolate ... the ball in foil that you whack so the "orange" shape of chocolate falls apart like pieces of orange ... love these orange tasting chocolate treats!!!

When I finished that I had to break open the Turin Kahlua Coffee Laquer filled chocolates ... which I'm currently melting in my mouth. Aren't you folks's mouths watering?

My Christmas plans consists of me, thus far anyways, buying round after round of beers and trying to save up for my Mess Kit.

I'm looking at about $1200 after it's all said and done.

I still have to do my "shining" as well.

Regards

P.S. - Yes Jiff.....hell froze over yet again and I earned my way into the Snr NCO's mess.

Believe me I was just as surprised as you are!

Nice little $1200 hit to the wallet once it's all said and done though.

MAX, KATHY and EMMA ... I keep looking and looking and looking under your Christmas tree, but for the life of me, I can NOT spot the wee Declan under it, nor topping it?

Well, it's not Christmeas Eve here on this side of the big pond, as yet, but it is over the other side of it ... I figure it's about suppertime/dinner time there and that Santa and his wee bitty elves are busy packing up the sleighs and rounding up the reindeer, polishing their noses, in prep to be airborn in a few hours to direct to tree delivery from whence Santa comes ... only a few more hours for you folks ... and only a full day PLUS a few hours for us ... do you call that the same day all around the world? NOT. Special treatment or what, eh?

Happy Christmas Eve you buggars

Happy Happy Joy Joy Get yerself Blitzed then to y'all over the pond

Well ... 10 minutes until Christmas Eve where I sit, and today I put the fresh turkey in the freezer, to be cooked, stripped, portioned, and frozen, another day. There was still a waffling possibility my youngest would be here, but just not in the cards to work out, hence the bird in the icebox That's okay ... more turkey for me and less spending at Safeway for groceries for a while

About to make myself a Double Truffle Hot Chocolate from my Christmas gifts baskets, to greet Christmas Eve ... and will raise a toast to you all ... in about 6 minutes now

Christmas eve for you Canucks... cool we can share it until you're unconscious.

Just having some Christmas eve drinks with daughter No2 who has just returned from a semester at Edinburgh University. Wonderful to have her back.
