20-cwt? (British 1 Ton Trailer)
Hello guys
I hope you can help me with this trailer? This is an canadian trailer, mabe a 20 CWT, but it's a Appleby nr 28. It's a number and lettering on this, and I hope you can tell me what it is? Norwegian goverment order lot of canadian military stuff, veichles and uniforms in 1947, and it was in use side by side with the british stuff In the late of the use of the canadian stuff, after the Marshall-help in 1951, this trailer sometimes was in use with a cckw in home guard. But I want to use it because its british way in the Norwegian Army in 1947 reenact I work for, they used british and canadian uniforms. |

Hello Dagfinn,
It looks like a British Trailer, 1 Ton, 2 Wh., G.S. See my webpage http://www.mapleleafup.nl/cmpvehicle...on_2wh_gs.html for more info. HTH, Hanno

Like Hanno, I don't think the trailer is Canadian.
The Canadian frame has the C-channel has the open side facing inward (opposite to this frame). I can't access the Photobucket photos to see larger images (MLU prefers the photos be saved to MLU so that when photo hosting sites close or restrict access the photos aren't lost) but the hub doesn't look like the Canadian 15 cwt trailer (which has a body closer to the shape of yours but very different bracing pattern). Photos of a Canadian 15 cwt trailer can be found at http://www.mapleleafup.net/forums/sh...=trailer+saved Photos of a Canadian 20 cwt trailer can be found at http://www.mapleleafup.net/forums/sh...ad.php?t=29948 There was also a metal bodied 20cwt Canadian trailer that had a similar shape to the composite body shown, photos at http://www.mapleleafup.net/forums/sh...hlight=trailer |
