Default OMVA Spring Show

The OMVA Spring (Winter) Show is in Acton Feb. 17.
Normal start times 0700 set up - 0800 members and guests.
An active discussion is underway to have the Fall Show
in early October in Ottawa and make Show time 0800 to 1330
the a tour of the Air Museum. Dinner at a local steakhouse
Sat. night then a war Museum visit Sun. Morning.

Comments on this plan are welcome.

The Combat Engineers had a great location, did a good set up
for the Club and everything went well. Many people and vehicles
attended we do not normally see. Best of all Tim Hortons was
just down the street.

Peter,

That sounds like a splendid idea. I would certainly make the trek.

Please keep us informed.

Default OMVA Show in Ottawa

If timed right (ie: HM has not shipped me off to another part of Africa), I would happily provide the venue/camp ground for any event or group in Ottawa.

Default In Ottawa....

If the Ottawa ROTers can be of any help.......

....and if Mike is in Afrika we can camp at my place......

Seriously I would love to lend a hand next October for a Fall show..... and I am sure the Hammond Barn group would be delighted to participate in any fashion possible.

It would be nice to tap in to the Montreal CMP crowd as well since it is only a 2 hour drive

Duly noted, I'm sure, Bob. I, for one, would look forward to that!

Default OMVA Fall Show, Ottawa

I'm compiling a list of MV Events with dates and locations for my MV friends in Kingston area. Some of them would make the trip to Ottawa if the October dates were known, and a few might be interested in camping over if the event was in mid to late September, but not in October. (brrr..)

Please consider setting a date and set-up location which doesn't conflict with Thanksgiving weekend. I'll keep watching for it.

Default OMVA Events Annual Summer Show

The annual OMVA show will be held the weekend of July 7 and 8 at the Ontario Regiment Museum at the Oshawa airport.
There will be a Bar-B-Que, refreshemnts, an operational field kitchen, plenty of member's vehicles and heavy armoured vehicles from the museum, the limber gunners, various reenactor groups, living history displays and dealer's tables for military vehicle parts as well as militaria.
We will have music from our own DJ, guest speakers and hope to generate considerable publicity for our club.
There will be prizes for best vehicle judging in various categories as well as a Saturday dinner Bar-B- Que and a Sunday morning trail ride. The club will be selling caps, shirts and other merchandise. There will be camping Saturday evening for those inclined.

The Ottawa event is not yet finalized for October, but all the details will be announced on our website.
For further information, don't hesitate to contact me.

I was just wondering if any of the Ottawa area crew is coming down to the OMVA winter swap?

Looking for a chap who might have some space in their pickup to take back a couple items for other collectors...

Default Considering OMVA on the 17th

I'm considering it, what wonders are you willing to part with and how much stuff are you looking to send this way?
On edit: how critical is it that what you want to send this way be kept dry (my truck is open top)?

Grant, specifically one cmp wheel with rim, one jack with handle and one 5ton tarp.
No rush on these really, I just thought if someone was headed back that way I'd get these items down to their owners.
Lets wait and see how it goes.

Default Parts transport from show to Ottawa

Assuming that the recipients are willing, and that I go to the show, it should be easily doable.

Grant/Chris,

You know that Bob and I are "willing", and if I am correct the tarp will be going to the S&P museum(?), then Gunner would be more than "willing".

Cheers from "cubicle world".

Grant, Bob, RH, gunner et al; I was hoping to be able to find a willing chap to do a one stop trip. Of course this is based on the good will on the Ottawa end. More or less thinking that if Grant can and will take the stuff back to the Capital that pickup would be made there from his place. Sound good to you guys?

And Grant, I will be vending so just ask around and someone will point you in my direction. I'm only willing to haul this stuff to the show if you're going to be there for sure or maybe after you would stop by my place for a pickup?? I'm only a few minutes from the show site. We can confirm at a later date closer to show time one way or the other.

Default Delivery possibility

Understood, I will confirm attendance closer to the date of the show, with any luck I would recognize you from BB1. Assuming I attend, I was thinking of taking all parts to Bob's barn where he and Rob could deal with distribution including to S&P.

Bloody hell, missed another one, no transport as usual. Going to have to rectify that sometime soon.

Default OMVA Spring Show

Many thanks to all those who participated or came to the OMVA spring show in Acton.

We signed up a number of new members, sold out all of our t-shirts as well as many of our second batch of caps.

We had a very productive meeting and it was a pleasure to meet with so many who attended.

Remember, club members are welcome to our executive meetings.

Thank you to all the dealers for particpating.

Most sincere appreciation to Peter Simundson, our past President for his excellent organization of the show and to Eric Booth for making the long trek in from Ottawa.

Congratulations to Frank Von Rosenstiel for becoming our new VP and to Stan Glass our new Toronto area rep.

If you have any events you want posted on the website give me a call.
