5 Iltis for sale near Ottawa
http://www.rideauauctions.com/
For auction 18 June 5 Ilitis as individual vehicles. All are listed as not running. The interesting part is that they are not listed as being sold for DND but are a pubic consignment(s). I'm not sure if it is a coincidence of five people selling at once or if there is one person in the area who is cleaning out their hoard (or possibly finger trouble at the auction house?). |

Same owner, he has or had at one time 17. I did list his info in the forsale section for these last week.
He has been selling them off at different places. he is located in cornwall Quote:

Thank you. I had wondered if that was the owner who was selling, I couldn't think of many people in eastern Ontario who might have so many Iltis for sale.
The listing Vettes refers to includes an e-mail address that seems to belong to a person named Blais. Last edited by Grant Bowker; 06-06-11 at 00:58. Reason: Saw Robin's reply |

Yep, his name is JR. really nice guy, has a few military toys including a fully restored bren carrier. I bought an m2a1 halftrack from him, and the deal went really smooth.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder......
...... beaten up parts vehicles...... who would want them.....???
Yet some of us have parted with good money to buy CMPs in far worst shape and felt like we had a good deal..... .........if the price is right and you need the parts badly....go for it.... Bob

Each of the 5 Iltis sold for $300.00, I have no idea whether it was the same or different buyers.

Rideau Auctions, who I know fairly well, have a policy on multiple items of the same flavour. It is called buyers choice.
The way it works when you bid on the first one and win, you have the option to buy that one and another or all the rest at the same price. They use it as a way to keep price up and also to speed the auction along. There were a bunch of "Training Aid" Iltis a few months back when I picked up a trailer that went for $600 each. They all went to Munro Performance out on Hawthorn Road. What he did with them I dont know. At the $300 mark someone got a deal and the buyer took a bath if you ask me considering he had to get them from Cornwall to Winchester and pay fees. Oh well, C'est La Guerre! R |
