Default GROMMETS, Sleeve, No. 2

Can anyone confirm if these are interchangable with, and serve the same purpose as, PROTECTORS, Cable? Both would be 1-11/16 inches long and held in place by a CLAMPS, Retaining, No. 4 with two ANC Round Head slotted 4-40 screws, lock washers and hex nuts.

I think the grommets might be early issue, made of rubber, and they could have been replaced by the protectors, which were of a metal coil spring design.

These were used on the 19-Set Control and Distribution Boxes to support the 5-pin drop cords where they exited the sides of the boxes.
