Default Newish blitz owner

Hi there all, my name is Cameron Reed from Knoxfield in Victoria. Bought a Ford f-15a? 13 cab about 12 months ago and have been looking on here for a little while, so I thought that I should introduce myself. Never really posted anything on a forum before so I hope that I've put it in the right place. Cheers[IMG]

Default What ever anybody says CMPs are not addictive

Hi Cameron

Don't worry CMPs are not addictive I've been enjoying the habit for 32 years and I only have three. Not like some people who are running a home for stray any CMP that wonders by. (Just kidding Bob)

But really Cameron welcome to the CMP collectors club, in MLU you have found the single biggest group of people who will know what you are talking about and be willing to try and help answer any question or source parts.

Cheers Phil

Default Congratulations

Excellent choice, and it doesn't matter whether it's a Ford or Chev, the CMP part is the most important.

Do you have any chassis/Army numbers for the database?

Hi there Keith, unfortunately no numbers i'm afraid that I can find, no tag on top of the dash , no tags on the doors, not sure if there is any on the frame. Is there a particular place on the frame that I should look? Also thank you to all for the welcome.

Default Place to look

First the ARN may be underneath some layers of paint. It's normally painted on the front shell on both sides under the windscreens.
The chassis number (generally) is stamped onto the chassis frame, top rail, right-hand side roughly between the brake and clutch pedal mount point and the front engine mount. Sometimes it's on the side of the chassis rail. The number on a Ford is the same as the original engine number which was also stamped on the top of the gearbox bellhousing. Typically it will start with (for a cab 13) "3G" or "4G" on Aust vehicles signifying 1942 or 1943 delivery.

Here she is an F15 bitsa, now got 2 speed t/case with pto, f 60 front and rear diff on 11.00-20tyres. Now the fun begins, the front shell has been blasted at some stage,od then red oxide bare steel the motor is a 21 stud late 37 or early 38 and out of 4 gearboxes that I got with it, everyone has had the grinder treatment. I think that I have the original 24stud motor, has got "4G" in the number on the inlet manifold face but will need more than a light scuff with the hone!!!!!!!!!cheers
