Question Soft-skin Vehicles in Service with the Hungarian Army (1930-1945)

Hi all,

This is my first post on this forum.

Currently I am working on a book that describes the activity of the Royal Hungarian Army (Honvédség) between 1919-1945.
At the end of the book, individual type sheets will be included describing each weapon, vehicle, airplane, etc. used by the Honvédség.

Below I post the (provisional) list of all soft-skin vehicles in Hungarian service.

I would like to ask the fellow forumites to check it out and correct the errors and complete with the missing types as well as information, including the number of each types used in Hungary, if available.

Also, any photos of vehicles in Hungarian service (particularily those marked with a star *), that can be published, would be welcome. The name of the contributor will be mentioned in the book.

Thanks, in advance, for your kind help.

Dénes

Hi Dénes

Can't help with the vehicles, but I just wanted to say I had a look at your aircraft website. Some very interesting pictures there, most of which I hadn't seen before.

Well done!

Regards, Keith.

the Krupp Protze Command ? M you have in the Cars column is in fact a 6X4 truck chassis and is not classed as a car but rather a truck.

I cannot help with photos at the present time but if I come across any I will certainly let you know.

Cheers
Cliff

Thanks, Keith, for the kind words.
Aviation history of Central and Eastern Europe is the actual field of research of mine.

I also checked briefly your site: http://www.oldcmp.net/indexes.html
Looks interesting, indeed. Will have to return.

Thanks, Wim, for the link.
However, I could not find a single reference to any Hungarian soft-skin vehicles in that web site.

If you, or anyone else, know of other web site(s) with reliable info on this little-known topic, please let me know.

If you click on the 'www' button under each of my posts you will be taken to the (temporary) start page of my web site (under work).
Also, here is a direct link:
http://aviatia.cda.ro/denes/start.html

Now back to my 'master' list of vehicles...

Dénes, welcome to this forum!

I can't really help you with your query, othet han pointing out this related thread: Traction for Hungarian Guns.

I'd be very interested to read your book, mainly for learning more about the Hungarian Ford/Marmon-Herrington trucks.

Regards,
Hanno

Here's a photo, scanned from a Hungarian magazine, 'Modell es makett', of a 'Chevrolet' (?) car, seen in 1944:

Can anyone identify the exact type?

Here's another photo, from my collection, showing a row of cars & trucks in Hungarian service.
Can anyone identify these vehicles? Photo taken in early 1944.
