Only got to prototype stage, trialled and found to be top-heavy, amongst other things. GM8446 chassis made available for other uses.

Default Nice one !

I used to have one of these back in the late 1990s converted by a previous owner into a very useful front blade road grader.

It went well and worked well. The hyraulic controls were still very effective.

I sold it (stripped of non military gear) to a Sydney collector who wanted to build a Fox Armoured car, but I doubt it went ahead.

Cheers

Phill

Default Quotation

Technology is transferrable, and these cranes and graders are a good example. Stripping off the military parts and repurposing the mechanicals mean the taxpayers will get a better return on investment than nothing.

"And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. (Isaiah 2:4)"

And this is likely the first time ever I have quoted scripture on the interwebs.
