Default Wusty At the Hedges Engine Rebuild

Its 2300 hours and Emma has just baked Rob Farmer and Wusty a cake. I have been workin with Max and Rob reasembling the oil less Blitz motor after a little machine shop work on the crank. Max doesn't have many correct tools for the job but as the photo shows a little bush mechanicing goes a long way in making things fit.

Regards Wusty

Default Bottom End In place

Things are going well we now have the crank locked down. Just checking with the torch for little bits of loose casting and old melted bearing that Max was supposed to0 wash away. Alas i feel his sight is going. Rob managed to salvage enough white metal from the underside of the pistons to cast a no 4 deep sea fishing sinker.

Default Lacking tools

Hey, Wusty!

If Max doesn't have the right spanner or torque wrench when you put the heads on but DOES have a stick welder I think you know what to do. You may as well weld the water pumps and valley cover on too but be careful with the sump. It's a bit thin.
Once the engine is back in ensure you braze the gearbox on properly too.

BTW you should be able to log on again now.
