Canada Day Convoy

Our annual Canada Day Convoy is ramping up and all are welcome to attend.

We will be departing the Swords and Ploughshares Museum at 0930 hrs Sunday,1 July bound for the Merrickville Parade startpoint using our traditional route along the North shore of the Rideau river.

The Merrickville parade kicks off at about 1100 hrs and will end with a BANG as we fire the minute gun at the Blockhouse Park at 1200 hrs. A light lunch hosted at the Legion will be followed by form-up and departure at 1430 hrs for the Kemptville Parade startpoint using the South shore of the Rideau river.

The parade in Kemptville starts off at 1600 hrs and ends with a BANG at the Kemptville College. This year it seems that there will not be a beer tent at the college so we will likely form up right after the parade and convoy back to the museum on River road and Hwy 416 (just for the bridge portion). That way folks can decide to stick around Kemptville for the fireworks there or they can head out to the big shows on Parliament Hill or in North Gower!!

Route cards will be provided to drivers and we will have a convoy briefing at the museum main gate at 0900 hrs.

Looking forward to seeing lots of you there. I'm on leave for the next four days to see how many of the museum's beasties I can get running!
