Default 24V 60 amp alternators, M-35 and M135 Master Cylinders

The sheds are full, and I will never live long enough to use the quantities I have of some of this stuff. So here are two items up for grabs.

First is the 60 amp alternator as used on most of the M-series trucks since the mid 70s. It was used on the M38A1CDN2 and CDN3, the M151A2, the 76 Chev 5/4 ton, the MLVW, the 5 ton Diesel, and the HMMWV. It was also a modification to install (as an upgrade) into the 3/4 ton, the old Deuce, the gas 5 ton, and the Cdn Ferret scout car. I have also installed them back in the day into the FV432 (gas) APC. They are the same size as the old 35 amp generators, and the pulley can be moved across from the old to the new. They presently have 2 groove pulleys installed which were used on the MLVW, the gas 5/4 ton, and the HMMWV. Price on them is $450 each. If you look on ebay or any of the suppliers in the US, you will see that these are a bargain. These are rebuilds from Patton Aircraft and have not been issued since rebuild.

Second item is Master Cylinders, which fit both the M35 family (MLVW) and the old gas deuce (M135/M211 family). These have the small filler hole so the filler tube of the old deuce will fit onto this cylinder. If you are installing onto an old deuce, you should open up the cylinder and remove the little residual pressure check valve. That job takes about a minute to do. These are in a plastic bag in their sealed boxes. Price is $100 ea and I can fit them one into a flat rate box for $20. I might be able to fit two into that box, but will have to check the total weight first.

Hi Rob,

I will have to check my numbers when I get home. A dealer is taking 20, which may not leave me any for spare. Will advise in 4 or 5 days.

If at all possible, try to save me 1 of the 60 amp alternators. Thanks

Hi Rob,
I found that one of the guys down here in chicago had 2 spare 60amp alternators. I was unsure if you would have a spare alternator after your sale
to the company wanting 20 of them. So l was able to purchase 1 of the spare alternators from the guy down here. This will save you the trouble of trying to ship one to me from canada. The only thing missing on this alternator is the small cover plate with the “warning disconnect battery” sticker on it. Do you know where l could find one of these cover plates? Thanks. Rich

Richard. all the alternators I have are reserved for that sale but glad you found one out your way. I likely have the cover, but it will depend on which model of the alternator you have. Can you show a photo of your new alternator and list the model number? There are a half dozen variations to these.
