1983 MVPA (MVCC) Vancouver Convention

In light of the recent successful completion of the Portland, Oregon 2013 MVPA Convention, I thought it might be interesting to take a look 30 years ago when the same convention was hosted in Vancouver, BC by the Western Command Chapter. At that time they had some great support from MVPA members in Oregon and Washington States.

These two photos I ran across are from the set up day for the outside vehicle display.

IIRC, the Dingo in the second photo came out of Singapore, possibly ex-police. Perhaps the most appreciated vehicle at the convention is in the background of that shot…the large white one…the beer trailer!

There was also a large indoor vehicle display in the adjoining armoury, and I recall somebody walking about in full wartime uniform making a delightful sound on the concrete floors with his cleats and hobnails. Methinks it was Colin Stevens!

Did you notice it was the same dingo in Portland this year? Same owner too and yes that would have been Colin walking around in hobnails.
