There's a really good book "Producer Gas For Motor Vehicles" printed in 1942, reprinted a few years ago by Lindsay Publications ISBN 1-55918-187-7. Seems to have been written in Australia so may have some usefull info for you?? If you're planning to build a working gas producer, this is the book for you.... almost too much information...
Cheers,

Chaz

Default gas

They were used here in good numbers . A large kiln was built at Gembrook in the Dandenongs during the war to make the charcoal. The Kiln is still there to this day and a local festival is centred on it . quitea few people made their own .

There was a myriad of brands here in OZ . This advert from the Melbourne Argus daily paper .
