Default Wanted to trade: Have carrier rad socket: trade for jack block.

I believe these sockets to be fairly uncommon, especially judging by how long some members have been looking for one. So I happened across a spare, and one of the things I have been looking for is the original carrier jack block. So if anyone wants to do an even trade, let me know. I'll give it a week, and if this offer does not result in any trades, then I'll perhaps put it for outright sale.

Photo to follow, but if it is on your list of must haves, then you know what it looks like.

Edited to add: Have two different years: 43 and 44 dates. Trader's choice.

Nothing seen.....I have fired one towards you.

Edited to add: Micheal's dibs is if a trade cannot be worked out. He does not have a block for me. So the deal is still open to a trade.

As a point of interest I believe the T16 jack block was the same design as the Canadian Carrier jack block. However, from the examples that I have, the NOS T16 jack blocks have their American part number boldly stencilled in black lettering. On the other hand the CMP truck jack blocks had no slot or metal plate to retain the jack: they were just a slab made from laminated wood.

Thanks for the clarifications Brian. Seems we learn new stuff even in the "For Sale " section. I am, of course, looking for the Cdn block.

Robe, that that Jack block is easy to make. I converted a T16 one.

Kevin

I have not seen a lot of T-16 blocks around either. Quite frankly, I would trade the socket for a t-16 block as long as it was in good shape.

Edited to add: Since at my insistance, bruce is goign to make up some primo jack blocks, I will reserve the socket for him.

I'll be back to the honeyhole this weekend, and who knows, perhaps there are more.

Back from the honeyhole, and sure enough managed to find another small batch of the sockets. So I am going to toss them on here for $100 ea plus postage. Grand total of 3 left to sell. I was pretty thorough this week, so I don't think there will be more. The balance are spoken for. First to respond to this ad followed up by a PM will get their turn. I will limit them to 1 per person for now, if there are any left in a couple days then I'll open it to multiples, although I don't expect that to be the case.

So with that, the three available are gone. Sorry to all the others who have missed this chance. I very much doubt I'll find more but you never know.

If anything changes I'll let the board know.

Lynn,
Gosh, no not trying to cut anyone out.
I tried to get a spare but the supply was limited and they were limited to one each, which is entirely fair.

I suggest you contact Rob to see if there are any cancellations or none payments for these.

Maybe there will be more show up from Robs honey hole! I hope so, as there could well be other gems show up.

Cheers,
Harris

Sorry, but there was one person who PM'd without posting on this thread. They are all spoken for. If someone were to back out, which I highly doubt, I'll go through the two or three that have PM'd me since, but I think it will be doubtful.

Hopefully I will find more yet, but I am pretty sure we exhausted the building we found these in. There is one more building to get into yet...someday. Otherwise, the stuff is spread over 20 acres in little sheds and piles of stuff.

Sounds like an exciting little spot! How do you sleep at night, without knowing whats in the last building...? haha.

Marc
You would be joining a lineup of a half dozen others who also have asked. No doubt there are more out there somewhere......just that there is so much stuff that the odds of ever actually seeing them are so slim. But should I find another stack of them, I'll announce it here on MLU.
