They can't be serious with those bid estimates, surely?

An auction house with no clue as to what they were selling - amply demonstrated by the way complete sets were split across several lots with parts of other equipment mixed in.

They were probably just a little surprised by the hammer prices, apparently the total for the radio kit reached 19,000 GBP or thereabouts. (The lot with the WS76 in it apparently fetched 1900 GBP)

e.g. Lot 3345 estimate 40 - 60, last bid 600
and Lot 3346 estimate 40 - 60, last bid 1,900 (WS76, R109, Torn Eb, etc.)

Some of the lots were making anything from 10 to 30 times their estimate, but the general feeling was that they would have done better if it was either broken up further into individual items for the radio kit, or related items were grouped together to make complete (or near complete) sets.

Charges on top were apparently 28%, which is a little over the top (IMAO)!

Comment: the best bargain was the sausage rolls from the cafe.

Chris.
