Chore Horse power cables?
This power cable set: ZA/CAN 9682, Connectors, twin, 6-ft, 3/4 in., No.C1, packed Sept.1947. May be a Chore Horse accessory or perhaps #19 set? Or perhaps for the CPP-2 Power Supply? Any one with an accurate ID? The clips are 25 Amp Mueller Universal No. 24A. The clip on the red positive cable has a “+” cut-out to identify it as positive. The other clip has no cut-out.

The grommet suggests it was meant to pass through a sheet metal enclosure, doesn't seem to suggest chorehorse application... but this is only a guess.
I don't have a good enough mental image of the CPP to make intelligent comment but Peter Simundson posted a photo of CPP with similar looking cable (but not a grommet?) http://www.mapleleafup.net/forums/sh...ad.php?t=20182 |

Cables
The original cables with the nos chorehores I bought are both black ...not red & black . The cables came in a white thin cotton bag .

Bill Drew had a shed full of NOS chorehorse parts in the early 80's. God knows where it all ended up ...probably scrapped

Grant: good eye to spot the grommet. I can’t think of an application where the cables would pass through a hole. Will keep thinking of where it could be used.
Mike: you are correct on the Chore Horse cables being black rubberized cables so my sample is not officially a Chore Horse accessory. I ran the ZA/CAN number in the 1985 Canadian army microfiche but it was evidently a discontinued number: if I could have gotten a Federal Stock Number then it maybe have led to a better description or end use. |

This is unfamiliar ground for me. But in the picture of Peter Simundson's equipment there is a round notch on the left side of the case which could hold the grommet when the flap/lid is shut down? Ron

Brian.
Isn’t there a chorehorse installation for one of the CMP’s where it is mounted on a step, or fender, in a protective metal shroud? Someone was looking for this installation info on MLU a couple of years back. David |
