C-42 Set Equipment
Was a loudspeaker ever issued for the Plessey C-42 Set, and if so, does anyone have any photos of it?

There was one available as part of the "A" & "B" harness. I don't think they were very common.
WftW Compendium 2 shows that an ALS19 (apparatus loudspeaking 19) was required. This was an external audio amplifier that drove up to 3 speakers. The speakers were Loudspeaker PM 5" or Loudspeaker PM 3 1/4". The C42 didn't drive a speaker by itself. |

I only knew the C42 in the 1970's with the Reserves, and these were pieces taken from plywood boxes for portable ground stations during "National Survival" exercises. There was a tray, two boxes, a top tray, some small boxes on top and various essential cables. And, two pieces for head and handsets.
