Thanks Stephen |

Hello Stephen,
I don’t have the measurements for the long handle, but I do have the cranked end. I need the long shaft also. If it makes it any cheaper to get 2 done I’ll happily take one. Regards, Tom |

So just to add to Bruces good work. The main body is heavy walled tube The splined end is machined on solid bar, the other end of which is spigoted into the tube and welded.

Hello Lynn
Thanks for that. Cheers Stephen |

Lynn I'm glad you added that point as I carefully avoided it!! The weight told me the handle is hollow yet I can't see any evidence of where the splined end is welded on. The weld must have been ground smooth very carefully.

Bruce, I have the end of one that has been cut off. Your handle will be made of the same tube. I think the old Ford crank handle end, with the tapered square is probably 5/8" dia and fits nicely in the tube?
The idea of the spline, for those who don't know, is that you reverse the handle, when it is being stowed. Then it is not wider than the carrier.
