ford 13 cab assembly
Needs some info on a ford 13 cab, is there a antisqueak (canvas -tar strip) between the cab backwall and floor when assembling ? For that matter other than the fenders, where else ?
Thanks Kirk Armitage |

Yes there is.......
Hi Kirk
Yes you should have antisqweak strip on the bottom and the middle of the back wall. Also between the roof and the windshield frame in front. Canvass is more original and available oil soaked from Mac Auto but we prefer to use glass setting rubber tape or rubber/cork tape. The nose section when it is bolted to the cab also uses narrow tape. Not sure if you have a roof hatch but that also requires rubber tape but primarily for sealing against rain seepage. If you think that is a lot you should be doing a cab 11 or cab 12.... every metal to metal contact point has antisqueak tape. Having fun yet ??? Cheers

Thanks Bob
I'll stick with the 13 cab for now, beginning to come out of the haze, lunettes were dirty ! Shouldn't you be tramping the wilds of Barrie right about now ? Thanks again Kirk |

No Barrie again....
Weather forecast was too iffy to spend 14 hours on the road just to get wet.
Stayed home and fired up a 261 that had been rebuilt and stored for over six years just music to my ears!!! Cheers

Bob, when I did my first 12 cab I could not find any anti squeek stuff like the original so I made my own.
I found surplus flat cotton webbing and dipped it into thinned out black undercoating (the rubbery stuff). It stayed flexible enough yet served the purpose.

You really have to change over to the Fords......they are so quiet you barely hear them, and so reliable that you are not particularly excited when they start up. It is expected of them. |

Chris is right, but its not as good as a 308 . I didn't use any anti squeak on any part of my Cab 12 or canvas, found it much easier that way which is why ill probably pay for it one way or another in the future. Worst case is take it apart and add........no i wont

Ford 13 cab front mount
On the front clip of a 13 cab ford you have a 3/8 bolt securing the clip angle iron to a mount on the frame crossmember (according to my parts book ). What size is the mount and angle iron holes? The mounts I'm using , the holes seem overly large, enough for the spring to fall through. Also need to know the length of the bolt spring and is it on the top or bottom when installed.
Thanks K Armitage |

Need somebody with a Ford 13 cab, to measure the hole size and location of the hole on the front clip crossmember mount. ( measuring from the front of the mount ). Thanks K Armitage
