Default 1947 First CMP arriving to Argentina

In 1946, an Institute called IAPI Instituto Argentino de Promocion del Intercambio , purchased military equipment and machinery in Europe in exchange for raw materials, grains and meat produced in Argentina .
Here photographs when they arrived CMP trucks and other vehicles.

Default Thanks for the wondeful picture .....

Hi Mariano

Wonderful information for reference when we work on our trucks.

Is there a web site for the National Archives of Argentina that you can share with us that will give us a direct access to the CMP pictures.

Thanks for your help.

Bob C.

Phill, Bob.
I'm glad you like the pictures!

All this material was purchased new pay per kilogram of scrap and delivering seed wheat and beef. Europe needed food and had plenty of war material.

Our Archivo General de la Nacion is in the process of digitalizing much photographic material, but does not have a web site to search and download.

I personally get this material, looking for it in this archive, when I have more interesting stuff I share with you !

Default Trailers behind CMP trucks.....

Just went throguh my AEDB photo record and could not find a suitable picture to match those trailers.

There is a better picture of the empty trailer in the 3rd or 4th picture of a poster that Mariano provided.

Some of the tires visible could be for C8 but from the size of the empty brake drums I think they are a load of knock down trailers on trailers....could they be of USA origine.....all CMP trailers of this type I have record of have single tires.

Now there must be stories of these trucks being overstocked and buried somewhere in Argentina.

Bob C

PS...Had a look again....... trailers have exact same bed reversed and exactly 8 tires for that knock down trailer.......

PSS.... and they sent nothing but the best to Argentina.....Chevrolet trucks!!!!!
