Excellent! Most likely originally a ‘Lorry, 3 ton, Breakdown (Aust) No.3’.
I wonder if this one has found a new owner already?

Is there something missing out of the image to ask for a $15000 reserve?

These prices are getting ridiculous. Ever since Col Anderson got $16,500 for his people are going crazy. These machines are not worth more than $10,000.

Looking at the heavy duty hood prop, I can understand the high reserve.

I was thinking this myself Bob. It may be a 6X6 Marmon-Herrington but it is only cab and chassis with no rear body. I would have thought $5000 would have been a reasonable price for it.

cheers

sounds to me as if he decided he did not want to sell but it was too late to cancel the auction so he just put unrealistic prices on them.

cheers

It's a good looking carrier but the owner is sure dreaming in hopes of getting that kind of money for it . A quess he figures Aussies have endless bank accounts . They is always someone who wants something real bad and may buy it. You never know , but i doubt it.

Well it may look good in a photo~from a distance~or to some one who don't know mutch about them.

The longer and closer we looked at it yesterday the more me noticed about it:-
*drive sprockets all but warn out.
*home made engine side covers.
*incorect instrument cluster
*plastic waring light in dash
*bodgy mirror
*home made tools
*home made engine bay air scoop with incorrect features
*home made and incorrect screan infront of air scoop
*the right front guard retained the ID plate from another carrier (the 1 for this carrier was on the top of the dash armour)
*totaly incorect army tac marings on the hull except the ARN

There were other things as well...

Now I'm not trying to be picky but I believe if you are expecting to get top dollar for something it should be a top item you are selling. Lot more that a coat of OD paint and she do attitude!

cosmetic stuff only Phil, can be changed in a heartbeat still the way that carrier looks i'd say $17.000 with a trailer.

Yes but not the 40,000 bucks he thinks he may get! he should have taken the $25,000 bid.

cheers
