Hello Everyone,

A cheaper, affordable version of my book went on sale Friday 15 October.

"An Army of Never-Ending Strength: Reinforcing the Canadians in NW Europe 1944-45"

This book takes on the topic of reinforcements, combat power and equipment levels. Good reference if interested in the First Canadian Army in NWE, 1944-1945.

"... Gullachsen demonstrates the army’s effectiveness at reinforcing its combat units and draws a powerful conclusion. The administrative and logistical capability of the Canadian Army created a constant state of offensive strength, which made a marked contribution to eventual Allied victory. ..."

Whenever I read a passage or an account of the Canadian Army (most of the late WW2 armies for that matter), I must remind myself that these men were not the same troops and officers who landed in Normandy. Just about everyone in the fighting units, especially the infantry, had been replaced one or two times over. That the companies, battalions, brigades and divisions could sustain combat operations is something short of miraculous.
