Default Wartime pictures wanted: CMP F15A

Somehow wartime pictures of F15A's seem thin on the ground. Let's see how many we can gather here!

Thanks,
Hanno

First one was taken in Holland. Reportedly, this is a Royal Canadian Dragoons vehicle which was pictured at a place called De Blesse. Census number seems to be CZ4256418, if I read it right.

Third one is courtesy of Bill Miller, and shows an F15A of the 1CACR at Peheim, Germany, 1945.

Here's one taken at Monegeeta where it was used in trials.

This was the one used for the power to weight trials.

From MILIFAX:
Quote:
A member of the 1st Canadian Army Tank Brigade resprays a CMP 15-cwt truck in preparation for the invasion of Sicily. Notice how he is following the outline of the original brush-painted Micky Mouse Ear pattern with the new coat of paint. Also notice the difference in shade, the new paint being much darker than the old. This may be SCC No.14 Black vs Dark Tarmac No.4 or even SCC Ia Dark Brown. The overall colour is probably SCC No.2 Brown.

Yes, it is a plain 1/4-ton Bantam / Willys MBT trailer. Known as a 10-cwt trailer in the Canadian Army.

While not an F15A, nevertheless a classic shot of a 15-cwt CMP in wartime service.

This photo is Library and Archives Canada photo 24170 and the truck was with the Carlton and York Regiment. The archives did not provide the caption for the photo when I bought an 8x10 about 20 years ago.

The markings are on the truck. Yes, they are very crude and this crudeness was not normal.

68 is the unit sign.

The maple leaf on port (left) side opf truck is the formation sign.

42/1 is the unit serial and gives positive ID of the unit, without having to know any of the colours.

I believe the photo is taken in Italy, that there is a roundel on the roof (red/white/blue/vellow)[That glare makes confirmation dificult] and on the passenger window there is a circular marking.

Note Bren Gun on truck roof and a Lee Enfield. Also the 6 Pr cleaning rod tied to the top of the truck bows. The nuzzle of the 6 Pr is just visible henind the truck. There is also a jeep on the left covered by bystanders.

Again, I know it's not an F15A, however it's a nice shot of several C15A 's, taken by my father when he was serving in India. This was the Royal Signals Div Headquarters in Dehra Dun, in 1945.

Default C15 or F15 Inservice in Canada

Here are some photos I picked up a year ago that show CMPs inservice during the war in Canada, during a winter exercise.

Looking at Bofors tow bar I wonder which bent or twisted? Do Bofors have swivel lunette? Given that several of the pictures show MVs skidded into the snow banks or laying on there sides wonder how many other times this happened during the exercise.

In the C15 vain thought people would find the tires interesting.

Keith, Phil, thanks for both your contributions!

Interesting to see those regular road tread tyres on this F15A:

I know this one's a Chev, but it's an interesting camo job. This would be the leaf camo that turned into the Mickey Mouse ears. What would the two colours be on this one?
Hanno, the windows in the canvas seem to be a light cloth instead of plastic.
Regarding the tires in Phil's picture, I read that they used civvy tires in Canada to save on rubber when the heavy military tires weren't required.

I have found some photos of 11 and/or 12 cab 15cwt trucks taking part in an exercise in UK, possibly during 1941, judging by the early style camo on the vehicles. The architecture of the buildings would suggest the photos were taken in the county of Kent.

The first, attached, is AA truck with the Vickers m.g. and the angled Census number on the door, is particularly interesting, I think.

Another, with a slat grill Jeep.

A nice picture of a convoy of 15cwts.
