Default RIP Brigadier Gordon Jones, AM

Brigadier Gordon Jones, AM, passed away last Saturday, 23 September 2017, at his home in Queensland, Australia, after a long illness.

Gordon was a former Director of Armour, and his last posting was as Commandant at the Australian Defence Force Academy. He served as an infantry NCO in South Vietnam before being selected for officer training and allocation to the Royal Australian Armoured Corps, eventually, with the rank of Colonel, becoming the Corps Director.

A truly remarkable man and a good friend. I was greatly honoured that he accepted the invitation to write the Foreword for my book 'Leopard AS1' published in 2015.

RIP Gordon.

Mike Cecil
