Default Bren cleaning rod clip

Hi

The Scout has two clips for stowing the Bren cleaning rod in the front lhs compartment, I have the lower round type (TL12281) that attaches at the pawl pivot bolt but the upper one (TL12277) has been snapped at some stage.

Does anyone have one I can borrow to copy please or a spare for sale/swap?

Thanks

Ben

If its the same as the mk1* I think I have one on mine... You can borrow it if I can get it off.

Will go check now for you and get some snaps

EDIT:

These are the clips in mine located on the LHS lower tub next to the gunners left leg.

I think Brian Asbury had those a couple of years ago. Not sure if he still does but maybe check with him

Right jnr mk2 and I just got it off......just !

It is TL12277 and made by our friends at the ford motor co in 1942 :-) chucked it in a bath of cellulose death to check the numbers.

Some traces of that nasty green stuff folk paint their carriers with

Will be in the post for you tomorrow morning matey

EDIT:

Just got your message Ben.. Hahahaha ha it's here if needed, if not refer to my email :-)

Either way folks we have established that the clip was used on Scouts and Mk1* carriers.

The nuts are 7/16th with a lock washer.

Jesus that celly has gone right to my head !

Thanks Richie

It's the lower clip that must have changed as things moved on, after the Pawls were dropped the lower clip moved to the front idler fixing bolts as on yours.
