Any MLU's who are fluent in English and Spanish
Hi All
Do we have anybody in our marry little band of CMP ers who are fluent in English and Spanish? Who would be willing to translate questions and answers? I'm trying to help a CMPer from Argentina on restoration questions and the computer translation programs are just not doing the job. Cheers Phil

Translation
I see the problem, computer programs like Google and babel fish do tend to horribly mangle words and things get very lost in translation.
Surely there's someone in the membership who is fluent, and understands mechanical terms.

However...
They are OK when the translation occurs once. Which is all you need because the bloke at the other end can speak the language that your English has been translated into.
Where you get chaos is when you attempt to translate it back into English using the program. Spics and Specs did an episode of it - hilarious.

Just tried Google translator, will see if it works.
Hi Guys
Thanks for the suggestion of translator programs, I've tried them in the past and the problem seems to be that talking about CMPs uses a lot of none standard English in first place. I just tried Google translator again to answer a particular question will let you know if it works. Of course the friend in Argentina's English is far better than my Spanish so more than half the problem is at my end. Cheers Phil
