Default 19 set manufacture

Interesting pics

http://www.royalsignals.org.uk/photos/rca.htm

The buildings appear to be a ad hoc setup in some ways.... wooden floor . BTW that factory was in the USA , where the sets were made for the British Commonwealth.

You can see the 'RATS NEST" wiring of the 19 set . I am always amazed these sets actually worked. They plonked all the parts onto the chassis in a completely non-methodical way. MIKE

Great pictures. id love to be able to get a few of those parts bins theses days.

As for the wooden floors, most factorys/buildings had wooden floors just like that back then. I just took a tour of what was left of the old Small Arms Limited building in LongBranch, Ontario and the floors were all the same.

The photos were taken at the RCA plant in Montreal. They are from the Library & Archives website in Ottawa.

The units are MKIIIs. I think the US made only MKIIs.
