Default Interesting insights into flathead V8s

Just came across "Flathead Jack's" site. He's a flathead hotrodder with some interesting info on things like crankshaft oil sealing and this fascinating snippet on the wonderful sound of a sidevalve V8:
"That unique syncopated sound of the flathead is the product of two factors... Two exhaust valves sharing the same center exhaust port, and that abrupt 90 degree turn in the front and rear exhaust ports just before exiting the engine block"

You can read more on his site: http://www.flatheadjack.com/content/sez/sez01.html
