Good day Jason
Prices Spare Parts in Dalby have what was a mint F30 chassis before it was lengthened ,actually the whole truck was mint having hardly ever being out in the weather. Somebody has now taken the cab and engine but left the chassis complete with WW2 9.00x16 tyres on the rims. The axles are the late ones with lifting flanges .
It might be able to be made into something using your chassis as a guide.
Cheers Ken
Just been to Prices and they have a F15A just arrived.

I emailed the seller about this

I asked if he was flexible with the price. The reply came...

Hi, I have seen these things go for $3000! - so what did you have in mind? You would be getting the Battle rims for $250 each and the chassis is a bonus...

Hey Euan, I have sent some blokes paying 3 grand for them your way! In return, can you drive some of those 400 buck trucks into a 40-footer and send them my way?!?

Besides the discussion on value - this chassis does seem to be in fairly good nick. I'd say anyone looking for a 4x2 chassis should give this a good consideration.

H.

Wink good nick

You are correct, Hanno, it is in a good unmolested condition. I will make an offer down the track.
Cheers,
H

Smile Chassis

I just got an email out of the blue...
Quote:
Hi! Recent discussion at our monthly meeting resulted in $800 being the lowest price that would be accepted. We are a volunteer organisation and need to raise money!
In case you haven't worked it out the chassis is for sale. The ad runs out in 3 days so it will be posted again, but with different less ambiguous wording!
Don

Just reading through some older threads, looking for some particular info. I can't believe the arrogance and rudeness of this 'ron' bloke. And I thought my hub removal socket was a big tool! If he thinks ANYONE ever bought wheels for $250 each, he is delusional, so to base his comment on chassis value on those figures, that's just B.S. Seriously?

Smile Update

A MLU member, a local bloke, ended up buying this chassis.
I will let him divulge the price if he wishes, but I can say that the job lot was closer to the supposed value of one wheel.

That's good news. I REALLY hate when people try to take others for a motza, just because they have very unrealistic expectations of an items worth. This hobby should be encouraged and supported, not extorted. By and large, I have found genuine comradeship among fellow restorers and collectors. Especially so here on MLU. I would not have gotten this far without the support of good folks met through this forum. Many of whom I will probably never get the pleasure of knowing in person, but that hasn't stopped their assistance and support. When I win the lottery (Div 1) I plan on packing up some warm clothes and coming to the southern states to visit every one of you. Until then, I have mates I haven't met.
