Good news RR, as I am also taking my C30 over in 2009 as well. What it will do is give you time to get used to driving her, and to rectify any niggles over the next year. Are you going to go with the MVT ? , as if you are considering it, I would get your interest registered fairly quickly.
Rob mentioned the use of the correct mirrors, and I must admit that they work better than the larger ones, I have no problems with reversing mine.
All in all, the Chev's looking really good
