Default Seeking CFTO for M38A1CDN3

I'm trying to find anyone who has a copy of the following Canadian Forces Technical Order (CFTO), C30-100-00/CF011.

It has to do with either the installation of the 5# Ansul fire extinguisher, or its new installation with regard to the SMG dash mounted bracket.

Default Fire extinguisher location

Hmm? Never knew there was an actual order for that. Mine has a set of three holes in a line on the instrument panel, and none line up properly with either of 2 mounting brackets. The top and bottom bracket holes are about 1" off and the middle bracket hole is nowhere close to the permanent hole. The SMG rack is mounted and in a familiar place.

Terry...yours is definitely a CDN3?

Do you have a fire extinguisher mounted anywhere, or know where it was supposed to be mounted on the CDN3?

Yes, 70-08876.

The mount is vertical between the instruments and the chicken bar. I'll repost this message with the measurements when it is daylight.

Default Holes

I looked at the holes on mine, and discovered they are mismatched for the Ansul #5 bracket. Neither top and bottom or middles line up properly. Nor are they lined up vertically and worse, are mismatched sizes. I'd say they were done by an unqualified worker (ie. a Trooper on a Thursday night trying to get a vehicle on the road for exercise on Friday night), and who wasn't reading any instructions either.

For what it's worth, the holes are centred between the edge of the instrument panel and the SMG mount. Be careful not to put it too high and put pressure on the windshield or glass, or too low and mess with the transfer case levers.

Thumbs up To add confusion

Just to throw a little mud into the fray, the extinguisher in my CDN3 is mounted in the back on the right side at an angle? If it is supposed to be on the dash can someone post a picture? thanks.
