MK-II* Carrier trivia question
Many, if not all factory original engine cover ventilation screens from the UC NO2 MKII* have a small framed rectangular shape opening.
A similar opening is not observed in the MK-I* or UC-2 series carriers. Trivia question: What is the opening for? |

I do enjoy MLU Forum over the FB version.... it has a more intimate feeling developed over years of friendship and supporting each other in our illnesses.

Wrap your pasties in foil and leave them on the grate until lunch time?
But seriously, is it not for exhaust air from the cooling system; in from the front and out through the top. Without this the fan would have nowhere to vent the hot air from the radiator and the cooling system would not function efficiently. All tracked AFVs that I can think of have a similar system. When I worked with Challenger 2 Recovery Vehicles the hot air outlets were a very popular place to dry off after recovering things from water!
