Pardon the french
.... but in the vernacular, Bob's trying to get his foot in the door. For a very reasonable price (tis true!), Bob can make your speedo the envy of Ganmain. He does do excellent resto work for the price. Some of Bob's work can be seen in this thread. Here is a before and after pic of the gauge Bob did for me:

Salesman Indeed
Thanks for the offer Bob, but I intended to graft an instrument cluster out of an '81 Commodore onto it.
Only joking....

'81 Commodore
Geez Howard get it right. You are restoring a FORD so you can't graft a GM product onto it. You should be using an '81 Falcon cluster.
Bob Hey Tim Tam Tony, you are doing a good job being my publicity agent. What's that going to cost me. |

Commodore Dash
The reason why I selected a Commodore (GM) dash is because it shares the same top speed as the Blitz. And they are generally low KM due the cars falling in half early.

This Conform-o-dore has a nicely shock-tested dash with only 26 km on the clock. The wallopers managed to run for it and were not hurt, but must have had an interesting conversation with the truck driver who was possibly enjoying a nice nap at the time. Can anyone advise me what the PTO & winch brake lever/handles should look like as one of the fitted seems to be home made.
Three levers. handbrake, PTO behind it, winch brake on passenger side. Am I correct in guessing the F15 did not have a winch fitted as standard? Is the winch typical of what was fitted to these vehicles? Photo 1 Photo 2 Photo 3

PTO
You're right, the F15 didn't have a transfer case or a winch. From memory the one on your F15 was driven from the gearbox PTO so all that was a non-standard add-on.
Another difference is it would have had single 16" wheels all round when new, but if you're going to rebuild it as used by your grandfather then you'd probably want to run with what you have. And, oh yes, the rear axle assy has been replaced but you knew that already. Keith

PTO
So did other Blitz PTO's get driven from gearbox? Was there a 'factory' handle for engaging PTO?
I had a look on the (sold) C60L but set-up is slightly different. PTO handle is a stumpy cast looking item. Obviously C60L has transfer case hence extra lever. And handle/shaft going through rear of cab is for tipper control. Is this PTO handle more typical? Or just on Chevs? And is the winch brake handle fitted to the F15 typical to standard fitments in Fords? So many questions...

handle
Yes, the C60L is the right one for that type. The winch is engaged using the transfer case lever. All CMP winches were driven from the transfer case power take-off so that meant a two speed transfer case had to be fitted.
The only short wheelbase type with a factory winch was the gun tractor.

New Treasure
Found this in a box of unsorted stuff that I did not sell at the auction. Would this have been found kicking around in the Blitz tool box? How common are these?
