Ford WOT2E 15cwt AA No4 MK111 with tilted mast

further Ford WOT taken at apast DUXford rally, very nice save for the cab roof which appears to be a mod. Richard may have some awnsers to this it could have been a post war mod but i have seen no photographic evidence is it possible it would have been used as a breakdown truck before restoing back to military

That would appear to be the Light Warning body. The registration appears to be age related, so no clue, but I would guess that it may have spent its time with Post Office Telephones, Civil Defence, etc. after demob and that is where it obtained its smart hard top on the cab. I do not recognise this actual vehicle though.

I have been searching for pictures of the Chev wire 5, especially factory ones of the interior and exterior, to aid me in the restoration of my 44 wire 5 (someday...). I took quite a few of the one at the Sigs museum in Kingston, and have a couple of the one from the, I believe is the "Ferret club's", but I could use more!

I used to own the Ford WOT pictured.

Many years ago its discovery in a barn was featured in Windscreen magazine. It was basically in unissued condition when discovered with delivery milage only. The body had never been fitted out with any type of equipment with no holes drilled. The only deteriation was in the house body wood work.

There were also no markings and from memory only one layer of faded painted. Who ever made the hard top it was a very professional job.

Some one told me recently that I made a mistake when I originaly made up the number plates and one of the digits was wrong.

A camouflaged Morris 4x2 Wireless Truck parked beside a hedge for concealment during manoeuvres.

However it is apparently a Morris-Commercial 15-cwt PU, [FFW?] Thank you for that Sir!

Found this one in the AWM data banks. A Holden bodied Chev with an RAAF wireless tender body on it.

How about this "Car, 2-seater, Wireless, Ford Type" in use by the Royal Canadian Corps of Signals who bought six in 1935? It is a 1935 Ford Roadster outfitted with a Wireless Set No. 1 and an aerial mount.

Hi Joe:

May I thank you profusely for your post and even more so for the link to your site.

My own historical research passion is primarily centered on US Marque vehicles used in military service 1935-1945. Within that field, I especially search for "civilian" vehicles used by various military forces, both beute/captured/impressed vehicles but also MCV vehicles such as the Fords on your site.

CMP vehicles are, of course, the focus here but over the years I have collected an amazing amount of photos and information on MCVs, not only in Canada but literally from almost any country.

Thanks again for posting, the photos on your site were all new to me and invaluable additions to my photo files.

That's a 1928-28 Ford Model AA. Nice truck!
