Default How did you become interested in old machinery?

I've just had a memory brought back tonight - when having a surf on the net looking at the films made by the Shell Film Unit (who made the Back of Beyond) I recalled one made by BP in the early 1960s - after a bit of searching I rediscovered it - it was called "The home made car" and was a half hour 16mm film about a young man who buys a Bullnose Morris from a scrapyard and rebuilds it in his garage whilst trying to win the heart of a young lady. I have not seen it since about 1968 but it really stayed with me and I reckon was an influence in my interest in things mechanical.
I've also discovered the Australian Centre for the Moving Image have a 16mm print in their library.
Does anyone remember it? The BBC used it as one of their test films in the 60s and in Australia was the sort of film seen in church halls on film nights. Ahhh the memories...
