Default Spare Tire Carrier

I really appreciate all the help you guys are giving me, thanks to Robert Morrison, George, Phil and all the others I was able to get my paint sorted out and I must say my truck is starting to look pretty darn good, almost like an army truck too lol.

I now have a question about the tool box/spar tire carrier, I have a machine shop building one for me but we need to know how high it is. I have noticed that there are 2 peices of flat bar that have an "L" bend at the bottom and lift the entire unit a couple inches off the frame. Does anyone know how high it sits and how high the unit is from the bottom to the top?

I found 2 bolts that I took off (and have no clue where they came from), they each have a spring and use a cotter pin to keep the nut from coming off. I thought they were the bolts to hold the Cab to the frame, (front left and right) however when I look in my manual they use different bolts with no springs. Any iges?

Thanks for all your amazing help
Gary

There were two methods of securing the front end of the cab. One used a set of tire carcass washers above, below and between the cab mount brackets. The other used bolts with springs and cotter pins, as you describe.

Default Bolts

Hey Robert

Thanks, I will make sure I have my camera with me. I have made plans to leave here Friday night and will be able to meet up with you on Saturday.

Grant

Thanks for the info, do you happen to have a picture of how the bolt/spring connection looks? My C60 has the rubber connection so it would be helpfull to see how the spring one looks.

Gary
